A new vice principal has been named for a Timmins school.
Josée Laforce is taking over the role at École publique Lionel-Gauthier in Timmins on Aug. 19, the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) announced today (June 25).
"We are convinced that Josée Laforce's skills, leadership and vision will benefit the Timmins schools, but especially the success and well-being of our students and staff," said Yves Laliberté, CSPNE director of education, in a news release.
Laforce is replacing Robert Tremblay, who recently accepted the principal's position at École publique aux Quatre-Vents in Parry Sound. The principal at Lionel-Gauthier is Natalie Lévesque-Racicot.
Laforce has worked in the French public education system for nearly 15 years. She was a teacher at École secondaire publique Renaissance and has been at Lionel-Gauthier since 2022.
"A proud francophone and accessible role model for those around her, she sincerely believes that every student has a place and that all students can succeed," reads the CSPNE news release.
