Principal's arrest stuns Hazaribag - The Times of India

HAZARIBAG: Arrest of principal of Hazaribag's Oasis School, Ehsanul Haque, by CBI in NEET-UG paper leak case has left those who have known him since his days of struggle in shock and disbelief. Many of them find it hard to accept that the soft-spoken teacher, who built the reputation of Oasis as the city's premier school from scratch, could be involved in the paper leak.
Haque, 42, once ran a coaching institute called 'Seed' on Pugmil Road in the city.In 2013, he was roped in to head the Oasis School, located on Mandai Road in Hazaribag district, at its inception by its owner and chairman, Shabbir Ahmad.
He faced significant challenges, right from taking the school to new heights to securing a CBSE affiliation, but succeeded in both, making Oasis one of Hazaribag's most sought-after schools, thanks to its top-notch infrastructure and faculty.
Principal’s arrest stuns Hazaribag.

The school, which started with 100-odd students in 2013, now has over 4,000 students and over 40 teachers, and runs from a modern building with state-of-the-art facilities for academics and sports. The school got CBSE affiliations for classes X and XII in 2020.
Sources said a total of 118 students appeared in class X board exams in 2012-2022, and the school had a 100% pass percentage, with 38 students securing marks above 85%. In 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, too, all students who appeared for class X and XII board examinations passed.
The academic success of the school also established Haque, who holds PhD and BEd degrees, among the noted academicians in Hazaribag. After being appointed as CBSE coordinator, he became a prominent figure of the city and was often invited to various programmes organised by different schools, said one of his acquaintances. Haque, his friends revealed, comes from a humble background. His father, a former employee of Central Coalfields Limited, passed away recently. A bachelor, he takes care of his two younger brothers and their families, and a married sister. "He always remained busy from morning to evening, with most of his time spent at the school," one of his friends said.
The staff at Oasis School and his neighbours in the Hasmia colony are still in shock over his arrest on Friday. None in the school or the locality wished to speak anything on record on Saturday.
"It's beyond my expectation as to why he did what he did. It's a tough time for his family," said one of the locals, who did not wish to be identified. Another person said, "When the almighty gave him everything, right from the chair of a big school to the CBSE coordinator, what was the use of indulging in wrong activities?"

Quebec judge authorizes class action against former principal, EMSB over sexual assault allegations - CBC.ca

A Quebec Superior Court judge approved a class-action lawsuit against a former Montreal school principal over sexual assault allegations by former students.

The legal action, which seeks $16.2 million in damages and interest, also targets the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). The EMSB was established in 1998 as part of Quebec's 1997-1998 reform.

Former students allege they were sexually abused by Phillip Hart Baugniet, while he was a principal or a teacher between the 1960s and the 1990s at three EMSB schools — FACE, Victoria School and Lachine High School. Baugniet now lives in British Columbia.

Last year, a class-action lawsuit application was filed by lawyers representing the former students.

Pierre Boivin, the lawyer representing the lead plaintiff in the class action, said his client is relieved.

The alleged victim was "destroyed by the sexual abuse" and that his life was "totally affected by it," according to Boivin.

His client filed "not only on his behalf, but to help other victims so he's proud," said Boivin, calling the situation stressful. "He should be proud. He knows that we would all go forward to the trial, if needed, for justice to be rendered."

The lead plaintiff, referred to only as "C.", is a man in his early 40s who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Baugniet when he was a student at FACE.

The class-action application mentions that, during the 1988-1989 school year, C. was allegedly sexually assaulted during a trip organized by Baugniet at his farm in Cornwall, Ontario.

The trip was part of FACE's school activities.

None of these allegations have been proven in court, but a criminal case is underway.

The plaintiff was seven years old at the time.

Last October, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Baugniet had been accused of sexually assaulting six students in the 1970s, 80s and 90s in South Stormont Township, Ont.

He was charged with numerous offences under the former Criminal Code that was law in 1970, including:

  • Seven counts of indecently assaulting a male.
  • Two counts of sexual assault.
  • Three counts of sexual interference.
  • Buggery.
  • Sexually assaulting a person under 16 years of age.

The investigation began in May of last year after Montreal police contacted the OPP.

Baugniet was later arrested by the OPP at a police station in Victoria, British Columbia, and was released from custody after a bail hearing.

A spokesperson for the EMSB said Saturday that the board would not be commenting on the case since it is before the courts.

CBC News tried to contact Baugniet's lawyer for the criminal case but did not get a response in time for publication.

CBI arrests Hazaribag school principal, his deputy in NEET-UG paper leak case - The Times of India

PATNA/HAZARIBAG/CHATRA/NEW DELHI: CBI, probing the NEET-UG paper leak case on Friday, arrested three people, including principal Ehsanul Haq and vice-principal Mohammed Imtiaz of Oasis School, in what marks a crucial turn in the investigation into the leak of one of the most competitive exams.
Haq, also the district coordinator of NEET for Hazaribag, had maintained his innocence through the investigation and even pointed his finger towards a private courier company that had transported the question papers to the town in north-east Chotanagpur, and State Bank of India where they were to be kept until the day of the exam.
A regular presence on television channels, Haq had said he could not open the digital lock on the packet containing the questions at 1.15 pm on May 5, that is 45 minutes before the exam was scheduled to start, and had called up the National Testing Agency control room to seek guidance. The school principal, who was questioned for three days, also said that since the investigation showed that the leaked paper had been made available to students, who paid money to a gang engaged in stealing the papers, the night before, he could not be held responsible for the leak.
His claim was, however, exposed during the probe which, based on CCTV footage, established that booklet no. 6136488 containing the exam paper was taken straight to Oasis School instead of the SBI branch where it was supposed to be deposited for safe custody. Second, an examination of Haq's call records showed that he had been in touch with the members of the leak mafia.
The sleuths recorded the statement of bank officials and also collected the CCTV footage besides examining employees of the courier company which transported the box. The footage confirmed that no tampering occurred during transportation. The call which was made by Haq to NTA was also an alibi, sources said.
CBI also interrogated 13 suspects arrested by Patna police in Beur Central Jail in the Bihar capital and sleuths visited Kankarbagh with two accused to explore the potential involvement of Rocky, nephew of alleged mastermind Sanjeev Mukhia, in the case.
Earlier, the CBI had arrested two men named Ashutosh and Manish in the case. Ashutosh had rented the play school building in Patna which was allegedly used as a safe house by the handlers to coach around 20-25 students with the leaked question papers on the night of May 4. Manish took over the location for a day, bringing the students there, and later the accused burned the question papers and answers. Bihar Police discovered the burned remains during a raid on May 5.
Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police, which had been investigating the case before it was handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation, corroborated these findings, according to sources.
Rocky, who owns a hotel in Ranchi, is accused of arranging solvers to crack the leaked question paper. He is currently on the run. Sources said CBI searched Rocky's residence in Kankarbagh and collected evidence for further investigation. Rocky is an acquaintance of the arrested suspects, Chintu and Mukesh, who were apprehended in Deoghar on June 22 and later remanded in CBI custody from June 27 to July 4 by a special CBI court in Patna.

St. Louis principal sentenced for killing teacher, unborn child - USA TODAY

A former St. Louis, Missouri middle school principal was sentenced to two consecutive life terms for orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot that led to the deaths of a schoolteacher and their unborn child, federal prosecutors announced.

Cornelius M. Green, 42, pleaded guilty in a Missouri federal court in February to one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one count of murder-for-hire in the deaths of 30-year-old Jocelyn Peters and her unborn child, Micah Leigh, in 2016, according to a Justice Department news release.

A judge in the Eastern District of Missouri sentenced Green on Tuesday.

Green, who was principal at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School in St. Louis, stole money from the school dance team’s fundraiser to pay his longtime friend $2,500 to kill Peters and their unborn son Micah on March 24, 2016, according to a guilty plea agreement document.

"He literally stole from children to pay for killing his own child,” Nicole Conaway, the principal of Mann Elementary when Peters worked there, said in a sentencing letter.

One of Green's attorneys, Nicholas Williams, told USA TODAY in a statement that "Mr. Green understood his choices and made the one that did not compound the tragedy of this situation.”

How did Cornelius Green plan the murders of Jocelyn Peters and Micah Leigh?

Green and Peters were romantically involved, although he was still legally married and seeing other women, according to the guilty plea agreement court filing. At the time of Peters' death, she had recently turned 30 and was more than 27 weeks pregnant with Green's child, the documents continued.

Peters had miscarried before and terminated one pregnancy at Green’s insistence, but was determined to keep Micah Leigh, according to a sentencing memo filed by prosecutors, per the release. Peters was under the belief she was the only woman Green was seeing and that he planned on divorcing his wife, prosecutors said.

During this time, Peters also did not know Green was researching ways to kill her and their unborn child including secretly poisoning her by crushing pills and hiding them in oatmeal or yogurt, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Once Green's plan to poison Peters failed, he called his friend and co-defendant, 46-year-old Phillip J. Cutler, the Justice Department news release said.

Cutler, who lived in Oklahoma at the time, and Green planned the murder through a series of cell phone calls, according to the guilty plea agreement documents. Green used the address of Carr Lane Middle School to send Culter a UPS package on March 7, 2016, containing $2,500, the court filings say.

Once Cutler received the payment on March 8, 2016, he agreed to kill Peters and Micah, according to the plea documents. Cutler drove from Oklahoma to St. Louis on March 21, 2016, and stayed at Green's home, the documents continued.

How were Jocelyn Peters and Micah Leigh killed?

Green took the Amtrak to Chicago and left the keys to his 2013 Kia Optima sedan and Peters' apartment with Cutler on March 22, 2016, the court records say. Cutler drove Green's Kia to Peters' apartment on March 24, 2016, unlawfully entered the residence and shot her in the head while she was in her bed working on baby shower invitations, according to the plea agreement filings.

Cutler used a potato as a silencer to muffle the sound of the gunshot, the court documents say. After killing Peters and Micah, Cutler called Green and told him about the murders he'd committed, the documents continued.

After receiving the call from Cutler, Green bought an Amtrak ticket from Chicago to St. Louis so "there would be verification that he was in Chicago at the time of the murder," according to the court records. Once in St. Louis, Green went directly to Peters' apartment, called 911 and repeatedly made false statements to police, the plea agreement filings say.

When Green got back to St. Louis, he initially tried to get Peters' mother, Lacey Peters, to "check on her," according to the sentencing memo filed by prosecutors, per the release.

“The depravity of asking a mother to go find Jocelyn’s body, knowing she was dead, can’t be matched,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Becker said during Tuesday’s hearing, according to the release.

'All she ever did was love him'

Lacey Peters spoke about her daughter at Green's sentencing hearing on Tuesday, saying, "All she ever did was love him," according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. About Micah, she also said her daughter "loved that baby so much," the Justice Department's release said.

Peters’ cousin, Dedra Peters, said during the hearing that “Jocelyn had a light around her at all times,” and “touched the heart of anyone she came in contact with,” according to the release. Peters’ death has left the “family empty and heartbroken,” according to Dedra Peters, per the Justice Department.

A jury found Culter guilty of the same charges Green pleaded to, and he also received two consecutive life terms in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

When authorities told Cutler he was being detained, he immediately ate two pieces of paper from a notebook in his pocket, prosecutors said. It is unclear why Cutler ate the paper.

Middle School Principal Who Hired Friend To Kill Pregnant Teacher Is Sentenced - HuffPost

LOADINGERROR LOADING

A former middle school principal in St. Louis who hired a friend to kill a teacher who was pregnant with his child was ordered to serve two consecutive life sentences in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri announced Tuesday.

Cornelius Green, 42, pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire in the 2016 deaths of 30-year-old Jocelyn Peters, who was 31 weeks pregnant, and the fetus, named Micah Leigh.

In his plea agreement, Green acknowledged he hired a childhood friend, Phillip Cutler of Oklahoma, to kill Peters, a teacher at Mann Elementary School in St. Louis who was in a romantic relationship with Green. Before her death, Peters believed that Green was divorcing his wife and was unaware that he was also in relationships with several other women, prosecutors said.

According to a sentencing memorandum, Peters was determined to keep the baby after she had previously had a pregnancy loss and then terminated a second pregnancy at “Green’s urging.”

During this time, Green was researching ways to hide abortion pills in oatmeal, according to the memorandum. Prosecutors said when that plan failed, he called Cutler, who “was financially down on his luck and needed money,” to plot the killings.

According to prosecutors, Green, a principal at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School in St. Louis, took money from a school dance team’s fundraiser to pay Cutler for his hitman services. Detectives found evidence that the two planned the killing over a series of phone calls and that Green sent Cutler a package that contained $2,500 in cash.

“He literally stole from children to pay for killing his own child,” Nicole Conaway, who was principal of Mann Elementary when Peters was a teacher, said in prosecutors’ news release.

As part of the plot to kill Peters, Green traveled to Chicago to establish an alibi and left Cutler with the keys to his car and to Peters’ apartment, according to his indictment.

Peters was making a list of guests for her baby shower when she was killed, the sentencing memorandum said.

Cutler drove Green’s car to Peters’ apartment on March 24, 2016, and entered the home using the key, according to the indictment. Inside, Cutler found Peters in bed and fatally shot her, using a potato to suppress the sound of the gunshot.

Green traveled back to St. Louis and called 911 to report her death, pretending to have no knowledge about what happened and lying to police, according to the sentencing memorandum.

“He lied repeatedly to police while trying to mask his involvement in the horrendous crime by getting Cutler and others to conceal evidence,” prosecutors said in the memorandum. “He attempted to evade detection of his crime at every turn throughout the investigation.”

In the sentencing memorandum from his defense, Green’s attorney said he accepted responsibility for his actions and hoped to use his background to educate other prisoners while he spent his life behind bars.

Cutler was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire in March. He was also given two life sentences.

Speaking at Green’s sentencing, Lacey Peters, the victim’s mother, called the crime “senseless,” local NBC affiliate KSDK reported.

“I’m not able to go visit Jocelyn,” Lacey Peters said. “I’m not able to hug my granddaughter. Life is not enough.”

Former St. Louis principal sentenced after hiring friend to kill pregnant teacher girlfriend - CBS News

A former principal who stole school funds and used the money to hire a friend to murder his pregnant girlfriend was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison.

Jocelyn Peters was 31 weeks pregnant with Cornelius Green's child when she was fatally shot in 2016, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri. She was in bed and working on baby shower invitations when she was killed.

Both Green and his killer friend, 46-year-old Phillip Cutler, were convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire. Cutler was also sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for what the judge called the "most heinous" crime he had seen in his career.

Peters' relationship with Green

Green was a St. Louis middle school principal at the time of the killing, officials said. He was married, but led Peters to believe that he was divorcing his wife.

"Peters did not know about the multiple other women, including at least one who was also being duped by Green into believing they were building a life together," prosecutors wrote in a news release.

This was not Peters' first pregnancy, authorities said. She'd miscarried once before and had terminated another pregnancy at Green's urging. She was determined to keep this baby, who she planned to name Micah Leigh.

"All she ever did was love him," Lacey Peters, the victim's mother, said during Tuesday's hearing. "And she loved that baby so much."

The conspiracy to kill Peters

During Peters' pregnancy, Green researched ways to poison the unborn baby by hiding crushed pills in oatmeal or yogurt, officials said. That plan failed, so Green contacted Cutler — a longtime friend.

He stole money from a school dance team fundraiser to pay Cutler.

"He literally stole from children to pay for killing his own child," Dr. Nicole Conaway, the principal of Mann Elementary when Peters worked there, said in a news release.

Green and Cutler planned the killing over a series of phone calls, officials said. On March 7, 2016, Green sent Cutler a package with $2,500 in cash. Two weeks later on March 21, Cutler arrived in St. Louis.

Green took a train trip to Chicago so that he could establish an alibi, authorities said. He'd given Cutler the keys to his car and to Peters' apartment. Green had also bought potatoes so that Cutler could use one as a silencer.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri shared an image showing the potato purchase. A potato was used as a silencer in the shooting death of Jocelyn Peters. U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri.

Cutler let himself into Peters' apartment on March 21 and shot her in the eye, officials said. Once he confirmed that Peters was dead, Green bought a ticket back to St. Louis. Green tried to get Peters' mother to "check on her," according to the sentencing memo.

"The depravity of asking a mother to go find Jocelyn's body, knowing she was dead, can't be matched," Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Becker said during Tuesday's hearing.

Peters' mother was unavailable, so Green went to Peters' apartment himself and called 911 to report her death.

That night, Cutler was detained for questioning when he tried to retrieve the car he'd left at the scene. He ate two pieces of paper from a notebook in his pocket after he was told he was being detained.

Green and Cutler were indicted on March 9, 2022.

"The devastating actions of one depraved individual continue to impact the victims' family, colleagues, friends and young students," St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore said. "We are grateful for the resources provided by the U.S. Attorney's office to help bring closure to this heartbreaking case."

Married Mo. Principal Learns Fate After Getting Teacher Pregnant, Then Paying to Have Her Murdered - PEOPLE

A married Missouri middle school principal who hired a hitman to kill a teacher he impregnated was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison.

Cornelius Green, 42, the former principal of Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School in St. Louis, learned his fate on Tuesday, June 25, when a U.S. District judge handed down the sentence, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri announced in a release.

In February, Green pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one count of murder-for-hire in the deaths of Jocelyn Peters, 30, a third grade teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School in St. Louis, and her unborn child, Micah Leigh, in 2016. Peters was 7 months pregnant at the time.

In March, Phillip J. Cutler, 46, of Muskogee, Okla., the man Green hired to kill Peters, was found guilty of the same charges. He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison last week.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Peters’ mother, Lacey Peters, said Green was supposed to be her daughter's protector "but became her executioner," the release states.

“All she ever did was love him, and she loved that baby so much,” she added.

Peters mistakenly believed she was the only woman in Green’s life, and that Green was divorcing his wife, the U.S. Attorney's office said.

Green also researched ways to secretly poison the unborn baby by crushing pills and hiding them in oatmeal or yogurt, the U.S. Attorney's office said.

When that didn't work, Green contacted Cutler, a longtime friend, and stole money from the dance team’s fundraiser at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School to pay for the murder of Peters and her baby, according to the release.

“He literally stole from children to pay for killing his own child,” said Dr. Nicole Conaway, who was the principal of Mann Elementary when Peters worked there, per the release.

Green sent Cutler a UPS package containing $2,500 cash on March 7, 2016, the release says. Two weeks later, Cutler arrived in St. Louis. At that time, Green took a train trip to Chicago to establish his alibi for the murder and gave Cutler the keys to his vehicle and Peters’ apartment.

On March 24, Cutler drove Green’s car to Peters’ apartment, let himself in using Green’s keys, and shot Peters in the eye using a potato as a silencer, the release says.

Ex-principal sentenced in murder-for-hire plot in death of pregnant teacher girlfriend - Fox News

A former Missouri principal learned his fate after admitting he hired his friend to kill his pregnant girlfriend in 2016 with money stolen from a St. Louis middle school.

Federal prosecutors announced in a press release that Cornelius Green, a former principal at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one count of murder-for-hire and sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison.

Green's two consecutive life sentences mean that he will have to wait at least 50 years to be considered for parole.

His sentence came after authorities said that he hired his friend, 46-year-old Phillip Cutler, to kill his girlfriend, 30-year-old Jocelyn Peters, and her unborn child, Micah Leigh.

Cutler was charged with the same sentence this week.

Federal prosecutors said that Green and Cutler planned the murder in a series of phone calls.

Authorities said that Green sent Cutler a UPS package in March 2021 with $2,500 to pay for the horrific murder of his pregnant girlfriend.

Authorities said that Green took a train trip to Chicago to establish his alibi for the murder and gave Cutler the keys to his Kia Optima and Peters’ apartment.

Cutler arrived at Peters' apartment and let himself inside with the keys provided and shot her, authorities said. Prosecutors said that he used a potato as a silencer.

Peters was sitting at the kitchen table and preparing baby shower invitations at the time of her murder — which was funded by her boyfriend.

After Cutler confirmed that Jocelyn and the baby had been killed, Green bought a return train ticket.

When Green got back to St. Louis, he first attempted to get Peters’ mother to "check on her," knowing what she would find, authorities said.

Authorities said that Green eventually went to Peters' apartment and feigned surprise when he called 911 to report her death.

"He pretended he had no knowledge of the circumstances leading to the deaths, lying to police and getting Cutler and others to conceal evidence," federal prosecutors said. "Cutler was detained for questioning that same night, after he attempted to retrieve the Kia Optima from the crime scene at Green’s direction."

In February, Green and Cutler pleaded guilty in the murder of Peters and her baby.

Legally, Green was married to another woman at the time of the killing and involved in several other romantic relationships, authorities said.

With her relationship with Green, Peters had miscarried before and terminated one pregnancy at his urging.

Prosecutors also alleged that Green was "researching ways to secretly poison" her by crushing pills and hiding them in oatmeal or yogurt.

When the poisoning failed, Green turned to his friend to plot the death of his girlfriend and child, police said.

Peters’ cousin, Dedra Peters, said that her death left the "family empty and heartbroken."

"Jocelyn had a light around her at all times," she said. "[Jocelyn] touched the heart of anyone she came in contact with."

Peters’ mother, Lacey Peters, said Green was supposed to be Peters’ protector but became her executioner.

"All she ever did was love him," Lacey Peters said, adding, "and she loved that baby so much."

Principal Boyce clears air on ‘Gender Day’ at Deighton Griffith - Barbados Today

Principal of the Deighton Griffith School Michael Boyce has issued a statement to explain the school’s “Gender Day” activity scheduled for June 27, amid questions and comments raised on social media.

Please see full statement below:

“The administration of the Deighton Griffith Secondary School has been made aware of concerns and misunderstanding in the public domain following the circulation of a letter addressed and disseminated to parents and guardians of students attending the school.  In this letter a “Gender Day” activity has been scheduled for Thursday, 27 June 2024.

The school’s administration takes this opportunity to clarify any misunderstanding that may have arisen.  This activity is simply an extension of Gender Prayers where the boys assemble in one location and the girls in another.  In these sessions the students are engaged in discussions about a range of topics such as conduct, deportment, entrepreneurship, hygiene, motivation, nutrition, violence, or any matter that may raise its head from time to time to threaten the smooth functioning of the school.   The discussions take place within the two unique perspectives.   Experience has taught that with this kind of arrangement such discussions can be more beneficial and effective especially at confidence building.  This will be replicated in the planned upcoming activity.  The sessions will be facilitated by both in-house members of staff and external resource persons.

The school’s administration trusts that gives clarity to the intended activity and apologies for any discomfort that may have been occasioned due to any misunderstanding.”

Lexington high school gets the 'ideal candidate' for a new principal - Yahoo News Canada

An associate principal at Lexington Traditional Magnet School has been hired as the next principal of Henry Clay High School, Fayette Public School district officials said Friday.

Antonio “Tony” Blackman replaces Corye Franklin, who has taken a job in Indiana after serving one year.

“With 27 years of experience as a dedicated teacher, administrator, coach, and mentor, Mr. Blackman has proven himself to be an excellent educator and leader,” Superintendent Demetrus Liggins said. “His commitment and approach to the whole student, as well as his ability to effectively engage and communicate with staff and families, make him the ideal candidate to lead (Henry Clay) into the future.”

He begins his new job July 1.

Blackman started his career in Fayette County schools as a teacher at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, teaching history and advanced citizenship. Before that, he also taught world history at Woodford County Middle School and American studies at East Jessamine High School.

From 2005-07, Blackman served as the freshman principal at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where he implemented the Freshman Academy program. He then became the associate principal and served in this position for 15 years, where he was responsible for evaluating teachers, managing student discipline, and overseeing the school’s athletic programs.

In 2022, Blackman was recruited to Lexington Traditional Magnet School as an associate principal. His duties included schoolwide drills, family engagement initiatives and athletic program compliance, district officials said.

Blackman has a master’s degree in leadership administration from Eastern Kentucky University and a bachelor’s degree in social studies secondary education from Asbury College. He has professional Kentucky teacher certifications in political science, history, and sociology.

Fayette County Public Schools declined to release Blackman’s salary and told the Herald-Leader it should file an Open Records request, which gives the district a minimum of five days to comply.

Alpine sign former team principal as advisor - Racingnews365.com

Flavio Briatore has returned to F1 with the organisation he left 15 years ago.

RacingNews365 understood this to be the case, and the news has now been confirmed by Alpine.

Alpine staff were apparently informed of the move at their bases in Enstone and Viry on Thursday evening.

The 74-year-old has been appointed by Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo as his executive advisor for the Formula 1 division.

According to the team, Briatore will: "predominantly focus on top level areas of the team including: scouting top talents and providing insights on the driver market, challenging the existing project by assessing the current structure and advising on some strategic matters within the sport."

The flamboyant Italian was previously team boss at Benetton and Renault, guiding the outfit to titles with drivers Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso.

Schumacher won his first two drivers' titles in 1994 and 1995, whilst Benetton was crowned constructors' champions in the latter year. In 2005 and 2006, Alonso and Renault won the drivers' and constructors' crowns.

Briatore's reign, however, ended in controversy when the 74-year-old was forced to step down over his involvement in the 'Crashgate' saga in which Nelson Piquet Jr. deliberately crashed during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix to help team-mate Alonso to victory.

Briatore was initially handed an indefinite suspension from FIA-sanctioned events by motorsport's world governing body, a decision that was overturned by an independent French tribunal in early 2010.

The decision to bring in Briatore by Alpine comes in a week when news emerged Renault is considering withdrawing as power unit supplier, and that talks have taken place with other manufacturers.
