Maryland High School Principal Allegedly Heard in Racist Rant - The Root

The principal of a Baltimore-area high school is claiming that a voice recording of someone making racist and antisemtic remarks about students is artificial intelligence-generated.

Now we all know artificial intelligence can admittedly do some amazing things, but it still has a long way to go when it comes to matching the passion of a real, live, human voice.

As reported by WMAR, Pikesville High School principal Eric Eiswart was allegedly overheard going full-on Kanye West in a rant against students, his co-workers and the school system. And while the authenticity of the audio is unclear, Baltimore County Public Schools has still decided to investigate.

In the audio, Eiswart is allegedly heard saying, “You know, I seriously don’t understand why I constantly have to put up with these dumbasses here every day. Between these ungrateful Black kids who can’t test their way out of a paper bag. Or these teachers that don’t get it. How hard is it to get these students to meet their grade level expectations?”

It continued, “And don’t get me started on DJ, I’m gonna drag his Black ass out of here one way or another. I’m gonna get something to stick. I’m just so sick of the inadequacies of these people. And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I’m gonna join the other side!”

While the comments heard in the video are deeply disturbing for some, others are coming to the defense of Eiswart. In a statement, Baltimore County Sen. Charles Syndor said, “After listening to the audio recording, I immediately reached out to Baltimore County Public Schools. It is my understanding that the principal’s union claims that this recording is Al-generated. While our system entitles individuals to due process, the nature of these comments warrants an extensive investigation.”

Since the authenticity of the audio has not been verified, it’s unclear if Eiswart has been suspended. School spokesperson, Gboyinde Onijal, denied to comment about the status of his job, according to the Baltimore Sun.
