New principal appointed at Iroquois Falls school - TimminsToday

There's a new leader at an Iroquois Falls school.

Danyka Burton has been appointed as the principal at École publique Étoile du Nord, Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) announced this week. She is taking over for Chantal Tremblay, who was in the role for the last school year.

"Ms. Burton is a passionate and dedicated teacher who enthusiastically accepts this new challenge.  She is known for her ability to collaborate with staff and families to create a learning environment that fosters student growth, well-being and success," reads the school board's announcement.

Burton started with the French public school board in September 2008. She's worked as an elementary school teacher in Iroquois Falls and Timmins, taking on the role of vice principal at École publique Lionel-Gauthier in December 2022.

"The CSPNE would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms. Burton on this new professional adventure, and to thank Ms. Tremblay for her commitment to the CSPNE family over the years," said the board.
