MANSFIELD – Superintendent Teresa Murphy is pleased to announce that the Mansfield Public Schools has appointed a new Principal for Mansfield High School, Assistant Principal for Robinson Elementary, and a new district Athletic Director.
Russ Booth
Russ Booth has been appointed as the new Principal of Mansfield High School. He began his role on July 1.
Booth served as the Assistant Principal of North Attleborough High School since 2017. He was previously the Department Head of Mathematics at King Philip Regional High School and was a classroom teacher for the Norwood Public Schools.
During his five years as assistant principal, Booth gained important experience overseeing schedules, supervising staff and developing methods to enhance student learning opportunities.
“I am excited to get started in this role and I look forward to working with all members of the community to celebrate the great achievements of our students,” Booth said. “I am also excited to learn about areas where we can grow, and encourage an environment where all students can pursue and achieve the goals they set for themselves each year and throughout their high school experience.”
Booth holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bridgewater State College and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State College.
Tim Selmon
Tim Selmon has been appointed as the new Athletic Director for the district. He began his new role on July 1.
In 2021, Selmon became the Assistant Athletic Director of Mansfield High School. He has a total of 18 years of teaching experience in Mansfield High School classrooms. As Assistant Athletic Director, he made significant strides in changing student culture at sports games, as well as gaining strong relationships through the Hockomock League. He also gained important experience providing impactful and safe sporting environments.
“It is my honor to continue my support and leadership of Mansfield Athletics through my new role as Athletic Director,” Selmon said. “As far as I’m concerned, we have the most dedicated coaches, athletes and community in the league. I will work hard to further our incredible athletic program by building on the deep tradition of sports and sportsmanship at MHS.”
Selmon holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Health Promotion and Sports Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Additionally, he holds various certifications including Massachusetts Professional Certification in pre-K-8 and 5-12 Physical Education and National Certification from NIAAA as a Registered Athletic Administrator.
Felicia Frank
Felicia Frank has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal of Robinson Elementary School. She will begin her new role on Aug. 1.
Beginning in 2016, Frank worked as the visual arts teacher for grades K-2 at Cohasset’s Osgood Elementary School. She previously worked as a substitute teacher for the Whitman-Hanson Regional School Districtand Norwell Public Schools.
Frank holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Studio Art from Endicott College, as well as a master’s degree in Teaching from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She also earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University.
“We are thrilled for Mr. Booth, Ms. Frank and Mr. Selmon to start their new positions within the Mansfield Public Schools,” said Superintendent Murphy. “The appointees possess the skills required to excel in their new positions and all have a history of passionate education both in the classroom and beyond. We are sure that they will be excellent fits in their new roles and the entire Mansfield Schools community wishes them well.”
Additional Moves
The Mansfield Public Schools would like to announce additional staff changes as well:
Timothy Tichacek, who had served as Interim Principal at Mansfield High School, will assume the role of Assistant Director of Special Education for the Secondary Level.
Former Athletic Director Mike Redding will assume the role of Assistant Athletic Director and continue as head football coach of Mansfield High School.
Leslie Green has been appointed as the district’s new Transportation Manager. Green previously served as the Transportation Coordinator for the Medway Public Schools, and prior to that had several years in the private sector in the transportation industry.
Scott Sanchez has been appointed as the district’s new Director of C.H.A.M.P.S. Sanchez previously worked at the Lextended After School program in Lexington as Assistant Site Director, Co-Site Director and Site Director since 2018.
