Hanover School Division announced the appointment of two new principals last week, upgrading their status from interim to permanent principal.
The HSD board of trustees appointed Merilee Plett to principal of Clearspring Middle School in a permanent capacity, they announced on April 8.
Plett has been interim leader of the middle years school since September 21, 2021. Previous to that she served as vice principal from 2012 - 2021. Plett’s teaching experience includes 13 years at Landmark Collegiate from 1997 - 2010 and one year of teaching in Alberta in 1996/97.
Mitchell Middle School also saw the appointment of A.J. Neufeld as permanent principal after serving as the interim principal since January 21.
Neufeld moved to MMS from Stonybrook School where he served as vice principal from 2017 - 2021. Previous to that he was the phys-ed education specialist at Clearspring Middle School from 2012 - 2017. Neufeld taught at Green Valley School from 2009 - 2012 and spent four years teaching at schools in BC and Saskatchewan.
