FRUITPORT, MI – Spring Lake Public Schools has placed a principal on administrative leave pending the outcome of an “investigation involving academic records,” Superintendent Dennis Furton told MLive Monday evening.
Mike Gilchrist, principal of Spring Lake High School, was placed on paid administrative leave by the district Monday, Jan. 24, Furton said in an emailed statement.
Gilchrist was hired by the district in July 2001, Furton said.
The superintendent declined to provide any other information about the investigation at this time.
“I will provide a full, fair, and honest account when the investigation is complete,” Furton said.
