CSC Nouvelon board appoints principal for Coniston school - The Sudbury Star

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon has announced the appointment of Melanie Vaillancourt as principal at Ecole Notre-Dame de la Merci in Coniston. Her term begins on Jan. 3.

“Ms. Vaillancourt’s’ knowledge and experience within the CSC Nouvelon will make her a great asset in her new role. Our principals and vice-principals play a key role in our Catholic professional learning community,” Paul Henry, director of education, said in a release. “We greatly value the capabilities and leadership skills that enable them to engage our students and staff in raising their standards.”

Working in education for several years, Vaillancourt has accumulated relevant experience in various CSC Nouvelon schools. Having a specialization in reading and special education, she has held the position of vice-principal at Ecole Notre-Dame in Hanmer since September 2019. She also served as interim principal at Ecole St-Dominique in Sudbury and Ecole Ste-Marie in Azilda.
