STAMFORD — A new assistant principal will join Stamford High School this week, but he won’t be a new face to many.
Thomas Agosto, who had been the dean of students at the high school, will now fill the position previously held by Claudia Berlage.
Agosto, currently the assistant principal at Dolan Middle School, will start his new position on Thursday.
“After his short tenure at Dolan, we are excited that Mr. Agosto will be returning to Stamford High School to build on the work he started as dean of students by joining the leadership team led by Mr. Matthew Forker, principal at Stamford High School,” said Amy Beldotti, associate superintendent for teaching and learning, in a press release from the district.
Berlage recently accepted the position of assistant principal of the recently-created Career Pathways program for students who want to take high school courses while being employed part-time.
Agosto also served as a school counselor at Westhill High School, director of students for Future 5 in Stamford and a youth development facilitator for the Peace Corps. He holds a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Connecticut, a master of arts in school counseling from Fairfield University and a sixth year degree in education administration and leadership from Sacred Heart University.
