Kim Williams, a long-term secondary school
principal, will be a new superintendent at Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB).
Williams will replace Katherine MacIver who recently left TLDSB to become the Director of Education at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
“Williams’ approach to advancing student achievement, her commitment to inclusion of student and community voice, and her vision for the development of evidence-based school and system improvement planning will be an asset to the senior team,” said Director of Education Wes Hahn. “Her experience and knowledge related to instructional leadership and, most recently with planning for destreamining will be of great benefit to our students and our system.”
Beginning her teaching career in 1992 in Aylmer, Ontario, Williams also taught in secondary schools in
London and Ingersoll before coming to TLDSB in 2003 as a vice principal at Lindsay Collegiate and
Vocational Institute in Lindsay. She transferred to Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School
(BMLSS) in 2005 and was promoted to principal at Huntsville HIgh School in 2010. In 2018, she
transferred back to BMLSS, this time as the school principal.
“TLDSB is a strong Board with staff who are committed to ensuring an inclusive and equitable learning
environment for all students,” said Williams. “I am excited for this opportunity to continue supporting
staff and families to help students reach their potential.”
Williams and her husband Geno DiPasquale have lived in Huntsville since 2008. She will begin her new role with responsibility for secondary curriculum mid-August.
