AMHERST – Michelle Hernandez will be the next principal at the K-6 Fort River Elementary School in town.
Amherst Regional Superintendent Michael Morris, on Monday, confirmed her appointment.
In a message to parents, caregivers and staff, he wrote that Hernandez “will begin her tenure on August 2, 2021, after completing her commitments to her current school.”
She is currently the vice principal at Marcella Kelly school in Holyoke, which has grades pre-kindergarten, K-4, and grade 8.
On July 9, Anthony Soto, Superintendent/Receiver at Holyoke Public Schools announced that Aaron Morris is the new principal at Kelly, starting on Monday.
Soto, in a letter to the community, said: “we are excited to announce that we have selected Mr. Aaron Morris as the next Principal of Kelly School, effective July 12, 2021,” saying, “he served as the Assistant Principal of the school for four years, is a resident of Holyoke, and has daughters who attend Holyoke High School.”
